Intrinsiq How it Works - Automatic Accommodation Matching

Finding the right homestay host for students can be a struggle for education providers in international education mainly because matching students and homestay hosts could literally turn into a nightmare. Education providers need to consider various factors when matching students with homestay hosts, such as dietary restrictions, cultural considerations, special needs, and language proficiency. It can be time-consuming to find hosts who align with the students' preferences and requirements while also considering the hosts' availability and willingness to accommodate specific needs. Addressing these struggles often requires education providers to invest time, resources, and expertise in developing robust homestay programs. It is for this reason that having the right CRM provider, like Intrinsiq, could allow schools to get it right in the most efficient and effective manner.

In today’s ‘How it Works’ article, we are going to look at how Intrinsiq handles Automatic Accommodation matching.

Automatic Accommodation Matching helps education providers be more effective and efficient

Here’s how:

Step 1: Go to Accommodation > Allocation Students to Families

Step 2: A list of students that require allocation comes up on the screen. Click on ‘Allocate Student’

Step 3: The system loads the list of Student Preferences as well as a list of available Host Families that meet those requests

Step 4: The host families are listed in descending order by matching percentage - so at the top of the list you will have the best host family for that particular student.

Step 5: Once you click on ‘Show Rooms’, the system will list the rooms that the chosen family has available.

Step 6: Choose the room and click ‘Allocate’.

How does Intrinsiq make Automatic Accommodation Matching possible?

The information that staff members enter into the Intrinsiq system regarding accommodation alternatives and students when they book makes this kind of automated matching possible. The system sorts the available choices for accommodation according to the date of booking as well as according to the needs, wants, and requirements of the students. For instance, if a student requests a single room in a host family without pets, the algorithm will immediately eliminate any host families that do not offer single rooms within that time frame or that have pets.

All parties involved are automatically informed via email

After that, the system creates an email containing the host family's email address and a list of automatically created information that is required to book a student. The host family is then given three choices in the email. Ask Question, "Reject," or "Accept,".

1) Accept - student's family assignment is automatically confirmed by the system;

2) Reject: The student will return to the unallocated list and the host family that refused the reservation won't appear when the student's allocator is run;

3) Whenever someone asks a question, the accommodation team receives an email in response.
