Intrinsiq Support - Portals

In today’s article we are going to look at the role that Portals play in making the Intrinsiq system, and in turn, the day-to-day running of your school efficient. How do we achieve this? Before answering this question in detail, let’s move on to look at a more fundamental question.

Why Portals? And who are they for?

At Intrinsiq, we strive to make the workflow for anyone who uses our system as flowing and flawless as possible. The aim of Intrinsiq is to avoid having staff members doing anything that a computer can do for them. This does not mean that your staff will simply have less work to do, but it means that they can focus on what is more important, such as maintaining relationships with all parties. This is why we came up with portals for Host Families, Students and Teachers.

The Host Family Portal

The Intrinsiq Homestay Portal allows host families to log in and enter the periods of time when they would not be available to host students. It also allows them to view the bookings that your school’s Accommodation department would have made for them. The Homestay portal is a really big hit with Intrinsiq clients, as host families can access all the data that pertains to the students they will be accommodating, from arrival dates, to flight details and times in a very simple manner by themselves without having to call and email and message your Accommodation Members of Staff every five minutes, especially during peak season. This is what we mean when we say that with Intrinsiq, you will save lots of precious time!

The Student Portal

The Student Portal allows Students to log in and view their course information and classroom updates. This option also enables a student to log in and access their course details, timetables and attendance, at the click of a button. With this option you will, not only save time due to the fact that a student's profile is automatically updated once a class is assigned, but you also avoid an onrush of students in the main office asking to see their timetable or any other class-related questions they might have. This is what we mean when we say that with Intrinsiq, you will save lots of precious time!

The Teachers’ Portal

Teachers have access to their own porta tool, with their class lists and student lists available and updated in real time. Apart from basic student info and all the additional student data that teachers need in order to continue planning effective lessons, teachers can also do the attendance via the portal, upload homework as well as view the work the students have uploaded, update assessments and add diary entries for students (which can be assigned to the Academics department if actions are needed). The beauty of this is that they can avoid having to visit the Academics Office every time an issue arises or when changes are made to their timetable or class. This is what we mean when we say that with Intrinsiq, you will save lots of precious time!
