How Intrinsiq Develops and Delivers New Features for Our Clients
At Intrinsiq, our mission is to provide a student management system that evolves with the needs of schools, language centres, and training providers worldwide. The industry moves quickly, and so do the expectations placed on our clients’ day-to-day operations. To support this, we maintain a structured and transparent process for developing new features and ensuring they reach our users in a reliable, fully-tested form.
Below is an overview of how an idea becomes a fully functioning tool in Intrinsiq.
1. Identifying the Need
New features originate from several sources: emerging trends within the sector, changes in technology, operational challenges highlighted by partners, and valuable suggestions from clients. Whenever we identify a recurring need or an opportunity to streamline administrative work, we log it as a potential development item.
2. Evaluating the Proposal
Our team then reviews the idea in detail. We consider whether the function will genuinely support day-to-day workflows and whether it will benefit our broader client base. This stage involves weighing the pros and cons, exploring different approaches, and ensuring the concept aligns with Intrinsiq’s long-term roadmap.
3. Development and Internal Testing
Once the proposal is approved, our development team begins building the feature. The process is incremental, with thorough testing carried out at each stage. This ensures that functionality, performance, and usability remain consistent throughout the build.
4. Phase One Beta Testing: Internal Review
When the feature reaches a stable point, it enters the first beta testing phase. Here, Intrinsiq staff test it extensively to confirm that everything works as intended, that the behaviour matches the initial vision, and that no technical issues have slipped through.
5. Phase Two Beta Testing: Client Involvement
Next, we invite selected clients to participate in the second beta testing phase. Their feedback is invaluable; they are the ones using the system every day, and their insight helps refine the new function so it genuinely supports real-life workflows. Adjustments are made based on this practical input.
6. Full Release to All Clients
Once all issues have been resolved and the feature performs reliably across different environments, we release it to all client platforms. We then notify schools about the new functionality, clearly explaining what it does, the problem it solves, and how to make the most of it. To support implementation, we also provide a short demonstration video that can be shared internally across departments.
