Meet Jonas Farrugia: sales conversations, smart tech, and a very good cup of tea
If you’ve ever had a demo of Intrinsiq and come away thinking, “Ah… that actually makes sense,” chances are you were talking to Jonas Farrugia.
Jonas is Intrinsiq’s Sales Manager, which in real-world terms means he’s usually on the lookout for new leads, running demos, chatting to potential clients, and making sure people genuinely understand how Intrinsiq can help them. A big part of his role is listening, to concerns, ideas, and the everyday frustrations schools face, and then connecting the dots between those challenges and what Intrinsiq can take off their plates.
The problem Jonas enjoys solving most? Time. More specifically, the lack of it. Intrinsiq helps automate the menial, repetitive tasks that quietly eat up staff hours, freeing teams to focus on what really matters: making sure students are properly supported and cared for.
A good day at work for Jonas usually involves a mix of demo calls with prospective clients, thoughtful conversations about where they’re struggling, and a healthy dose of collaboration with the team. Brainstorming where Intrinsiq goes next is a highlight!
Before Intrinsiq, Jonas built up experience across pretty much every corner of a language school, from administration and admissions to accommodation and activities. That hands-on background gives him a strong understanding of how schools operate, not just how software thinks they do.
Outside of work, Jonas is a self-confessed book lover. And not just casually, books books books is how he puts it. When he’s not reading, he’s likely building Lego creations, proving that focus and patience extend well beyond spreadsheets and sales calls. If he weren’t working in edtech, he’d happily be a book editor, searching for the next great undiscovered author.
Spotify is his most-used app (every moment needs a soundtrack, apparently), and when the working day winds down, you’ll usually find him with a good book and some instrumental music. He’s a night owl, powered almost entirely by tea, both first thing in the morning and, frankly, whenever possible.
As for recommendations? If you’re looking for your next read, Jonas suggests Red Rising by Pierce Brown.
With his calm approach, genuine curiosity, and clear love for both people and ideas, Jonas brings a thoughtful energy to the Intrinsiq team, ideally with a mug of tea never too far away.
